In July 1869, three brothers, Cyrus Henry Gold (21 years old), Joseph Hyrum Gold (17 years old) and Francis (Frank) Gold (11 years old) left on the ship Colorado and sailed from England to America. They arrived by train in Salt Lake City in August 1869. Cyrus married Mary Willis who he met on the boat crossing the Atlantic. He made his home in Salt Lake City. Joseph Hyrum lived in Idaho, but eventually settled in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada. The brothers were from Birmingham in Warwickshire, England. A sister, Sarah Ann Gold, arrived in Utah a year before her brothers did. They had all joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and had come to Zion to gather with the Saints.

Alice,
I am going through my genealogy stuff (60 yrs. plus in some cases) and am throwing out a lot of things, but I ran across some things I thought you might like:
1. A tribute to Uncle Tom --he was Daddy Gold's younger brother and cripple and my tracking down some of his descendante in order to share the story of how Uncle Tom helped someone back around 1926.
2, Thanksgiving with Grandma Parker.
